I collect unused granite remnants from remodeling projects then cut and polish each piece by hand. Each piece takes about 3 hours from start to finish. A few years ago, our family remodeled our place in Tahoe. After our remodel, we had several pieces of granite leftover. I repurposed the granite into the shape of Lake Tahoe. Before I knew it, I started Tahoe Stone Company! I currently teach special education in Placer County and I am an adjunct professor at the University of the Pacific. When I am not teaching, I dedicate my time to diverting unused granite from our landfills.
